Describe a street market in your city cue card

In this modern and technological world where everything is happening very quickly. Open-air markets are continuously losing their popularity as more and more people are turning to online shopping. However, in my city, these markets are still quite popular. Although there are a number of street markets near my hometown. Here I  would like to speak about a huge street market called  AP market. Which is about two kilometres away from my home and is located near the city centre.
This is the largest and most popular shopping enclave in our city which sells just everything, a  person might want in a market. As many as 150 vendors spread out across ten acres of land, selling all kinds of products including clothes, handbags, traditional handicrafts,  hand-painted pottery, a wide variety of footwear, vegetables, fruits, clothes and much more. In addition to this, a plethora of food stalls of a delectable world of treats, from spicy noodle dishes to traditional foods. The market stretches across ten streets and receives as much as five thousand shoppers daily. It is open every evening between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

I visit this market regularly. My last visit to this market was two days ago when I went there to buy some vegetables and fruits. I feel that it is a great place to shop at. Every shopkeeper there is so friendly and welcoming. Not only are the products of high quality but their prices are very reasonable too. Because of all the above-mentioned qualities, I love this street market very much.

Usually, I avoid going to crowded places because I do not like being jostled and elbowed by people trying to get past others.  However, the visit to a local open-air market or a street market in my city is extremely rewarding.  The rich experience of shopping with my mother is quite exhilarating.  I enjoy the revitalizing and colourful ambience of the place.  The Street market is situated near the clock tower of our city.  It could be called the centre of the city.  Being a student it is not possible for me to go there regularly.

I go there only in my leisure time when I am free from my routine work.  The joy doubles when I do not have any pending work bothering me at the back of my mind.  Therefore it is generally the Sundays when I visit there with my mother.  I particularly like to see the fresh fruit and green vegetables in vibrant colours at the street market.  Their vivid hues appeal to my eyes.  Apart from being a treat for the eyes, going there is very informative also.  Last Sunday only I got an opportunity to see some exotic fruit like kiwi and vegetables such as broccoli green and yellow zucchini, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers and celery there.  Some were absolutely new for me.  I was thrilled to see them and asked many questions about their names, places of origin to the vendor.
Amazingly he was not without their knowledge.  He furnished me with many details about them.  It added to the repertoire of my existing stock of knowledge.  Such places transport us from the world of bookish information to the real world of practical knowledge.  Besides the rejuvenating and reviving atmosphere of the Open Air market.  My mother leaves no chance to surprise me with her bargaining expertise.  Her haggling skills just keep improving with every purchase she makes.  At times she runs into her old acquaintances from school or college.  This I admit is very uninteresting instead of paying any attention to their gossips.  I look for something else that can tickle my fancy.  A vegetable hawker then comes to my rescue.

The resourceful sing-songs of the vegetable hawkers interest me more than my mother's chitchat with her newly discovered friends.  The hawkers shout at the top of their voices to attract the customers.  Their peculiar style of enunciated the names of the vegetables is very entertaining.  Except for all the enjoyable phenomena, one thing which I do not appreciate in this street market is the presence of the beggars there.  Most of them are small children who keep on following you for a rupee or two.  Their parents, who should otherwise teach them to work diligently for owning a livelihood, train them for doing this.  It really distressed me to see them begging for arms.
Another disturbing sight is the pathetic condition of the stray animals that roam about in the market foraging for food.  I try to maintain a safe distance from them.  However, my mother is a real daredevil who Braves their approaching near and clears the path for me.  All these things the didactic conversations with the vendors, the boring encounters with my mother's friends; plus all my mother's courageous undertakings create memories which I think would not be possible without visiting this open-air market or street market of my hometown.
