Describe a city you once visited with your family

  • What city was it?
  • When you visited?
  • What you did there?
I have visited many cities with my family, such as Amritsar, Chandigarh and New Delhi Here I would like to talk about a city I visited with my family and liked a lot. Last year, in December, I went with my parents to Jaipur, Rajasthan. It was a seven-day tour. We visited many places in Jaipur. It is a very good tourist destination. We saw the Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Maharani Palace, City Palace and many more places.

Just opposite the Hawa Mahal, there were many people selling puppets. Those puppets were very colourful. I wanted to buy some for myself and my friends. My mother and I crossed the street and asked the price of those puppets. They told us that one piece was for Rs 50, but if we buy a dozen, they would cost us much less. We were happy with the offer because we wanted to buy at least two dozen. We bought many different puppets, some dolls, some animal puppets and some bird puppets.

I have hung two doll puppets – one dressed as a bride and one dressed as a groom, in my room. They have added beauty and colour to my room. They also remind me of my trip to Jaipur. The rest of the puppets, I gifted to my friends. These puppets are traditional art of Rajasthan. They are not available anywhere else in India. Whenever anyone comes to my room, they appreciate my dolls and I feel very good about it. I am sure, I will buy some more such handicrafts when I go next to Rajasthan.
